African Knobthorn nutmeg grinder (ref 108)

Handmade in the UK, this beautiful nutmeg grinder in African Knobthorn is an attractive and useful addition to any kitchen. Standing 90mm high with a base diameter of 57mm, it is fitted with solid stainless grinding mechanism.

This grinder is finished with 8 coats of water based polyurethane varnish, hand polished to a high gloss for a long lasting and very durable finish. Presented in a beautiful black gift box with magnetic catch. 

African Knobthorn trees, so named due to the knobbly protrusions on the trunk, are also known as Giraffethorn on account of  giraffes visiting the flowering trees reliably year after year. The giraffes carry pollen on their heads and necks, and cover large distances between knobthorns. 

Fitted with professional quality, stainless steel mechanism that both slices and grates the nutmeg. Fitted with polished cranking handle and brushed stainless steel knob. The grinder claws are lifted by pulling up on the centre of the shaft against the integral spring, allowing a whole nutmeg to be inserted through the side access hole.
