Craft & Materials I select large, characterful slabs of English Oak for these boards. The "live edge" (the natural outer curve of the tree) is preserved and turned inward, creating the banks of the resin river. The board is flattened, sanded to a silky smooth finish, and sealed with high-quality, food-safe oil to protect the wood and make the colours pop.
